How your portrait is made

From the first photo to the painting on your wall. You’re part of every step.

Step 1Send photos

A few photos are enough. I’ll tell you which one works best – light and expression count more than sharpness.

Step 2Size and mood

We decide on canvas size and background together: calm and dark, light and airy, or as colourful as the fur.

Step 3I paint

Oil on canvas, in several layers. Along the way you get progress photos and can share your wishes.

Step 4Drying and shipping

Oil paint takes time. Then the painting is packed safely and shipped to you – or you pick it up at the studio.

I paint what stays.

Animals look at us without wanting anything. That is the look I try to capture in oil – realistic in the face, loose and painterly everywhere else. Every painting is made from your photo, in my studio.

Besides animal portraits I paint people, flowers and still lifes.
